Caldwell Police Release Sketch of Exxon Assailant

Caldwell police say suspect is a man, who possibly left with a second person in a light blue car.

Caldwell Police have released a sketch of a man believed to have assaulted a gas station employee and robbed an Exxon gas station on Aug. 13.

Caldwell Det. Brad Palatucci said the man is described as a man, aged 30 to 35, who is 6 feet 1 inches to 6 feet 4 inches tall, with a medium build and a medium brown complexion.

The sent the gas station employee to the hospital with a head injury. The employee was apparently struck in the head in the gas station office before being robbed of cash and cartons of cigarettes.

The Exxon station is located on Bloomfield Avenue, not far from Caldwell's municipal complex.

Palatucci said the investigation is continuing and the man police are searching for may have left the area with a second man in a light blue car. There was no description available on the second man.

Palatucci said anyone with informtion about the crime is urged to call the Caldwell Police Dept. Detective Bureau at 973-226-2602.
