Caldwell Man Missing Nearly Two Weeks

Signs posted around town in hopes of locating 35-year-old Marcos “Giacomo” Alotto, who was reported missing on Oct. 5.

Missing person signs have been posted all over Caldwell in the hopes of finding a man who was reported missing by his family nearly two weeks ago.

The signs show a picture of Marcos “Giacomo” Alotto, 35, who police say left his apartment building at about 11 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4 on foot and has not been seen or heard from since.

The man's family reported him missing the next morning, saying that he suffers from anxiety and has been off his medication for several months.

Alotto speaks Italian and knows only a few words in English. He is described as 5’ 4”, 165 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes. He is white with a dark complexion.

When he left his home, he was wearing a red t-shirt, blue pants and white sneakers as well as a gold wedding ring on his left ring finger.

The signs were posted by Caldwell Police along Bloomfield Avenue, on trees at Essex County Grover Cleveland Park and inside a Dunkin' Donuts in town. They say he might have facial hair and be wearing a vanilla-colored cap.

Anyone who has seen Alotto or may have information about his whereabouts should contact the Caldwell Police as 973-226-2600.
