Caldwell Man Strikes Pole In Cedar Grove, Charged With DWI, Police Say

Driver faces DWI charges, according to Cedar Grove Police.

A Caldwell man was charged with a DWI he struck a utility pole in Cedar Grove early Tuesday morning, according to police. 

Adam G. Giorgio, 24, faces charges of careless driving, driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana under 50 grams, police said.

Giorgio was driving north on Grove Avenue when at about 2:29 a.m. he jumped a curb and hit a utility pole which snapped, downing power lines and a transformer, according to police. Giorgio was not injured in the crash, police said.

A section of Grove Avenue was closed to traffic until 2 p.m. Tuesday while PSE&G and Verizon made repairs.

The following arrest information was provided by Cedar Grove Police. The defendant is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
