Radio Shack Manager Robbed At Gunpoint, Police Say

The man with the gun demanded 'money and electronics,' according to police.

A Radio Shack employee was robbed at gunpoint late Tuesday evening, according to West Caldwell Police. 

Shortly after the store had closed around 9:30 p.m., a man walked into the Radio Shack holding a gun, according to a press release from the police. The only person left in the electronics store, located at 770 Bloomfield Ave., was the store manager. 

The man with the gun demanded "money and electronics," according to police. After receiving undisclosed merchandise and money, the man fled the store and sped away in a van.

The store manager was not injured during the robbery.

Police declined to release any information about what was stolen or a description of the robber. 

"It is all very preliminary at this point," said West Caldwell Capt. Gerard Paris Wednesday.    

The Radio Shack is located in West Caldwell Plaza, which includes restaurants and more than a dozen other businesses. Around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, police vehicles could be seen still parked in front of the electronics store. 

Investigation into the robbery is still ongoing.
