Did you ever experience G.S. Camp Eagle Island on Upper Saranac Lake, N.Y.? If so, join a hike to raise money to stop the GS Heart of NJ Council from selling our National Landmark Camp. EIC was donated to the Girl Scouts of the Oranges and Maplewood in 1937 by the Graves family so local girls of all backgrounds could enrich their lives by attending this amazing island camp in the high peaks of the Adirondack Mountains. For 70 years so many girls
experienced life changing summers there until it was closed and put on the market. The Friends of Eagle Island is trying to save this camp for furture generations. Join us on Oct. 12 to hike the South Mountain reservation as a fund raiser. Between Oct. 4-14 hikes are going on all over the country to support Eagle island, and other groups like ours are hiking to save their camps as well. Visit our website www.friendsofeagleisland.org for further information and to donate to our hikes. We will meet at Locust Grove picnic area, across from the Millburn train station at 10:30 AM on Oct. 12th. Ask your families and Eagle Island friends to join us and Girl Scouts who want to save this amazing camp.
