The Pack 9 Cub Scouts gathered gently used toys, furniture, books and house wares that were offered for sale at the  blacktop this past Saturday.

The morning began with Scouts and families dropping off and setting up the items for display. I was very impressed with the Scouts enthusiasm to assist. I witnessed top notch sales efforts from our young Scouts. There may be budding careers in sales! The Cub Scouts also assisted in pricing and totaling the sales as well as carrying the items to people’s vehicles.

Our customers were many familiar faces and members of our community. Teachers purchased books and items for classrooms. Grandparents purchased toys and playthings for grandchildren. Church parishioners bought games and items for their local parish, just to mention a few. Unsold items were donated to the ; Harrison School Kindergarten and the VETS.

The event was a fun day of working together and recycling at its best! The new found homes for toys would make even Woody and Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story proud.
