Hladik/O'Hern Congratulate Students, Welcome in Summer

Candidates Hladik and O'Hern congratulate students and parents on the end of the school year, welcome in summer with free ice cream.

West Caldwell Councilmen Stan Hladik and Tom O’Hern were on hand to reward the local area children to free ice cream at in West Caldwell, on Monday July 2nd.

Councilman O’Hern explained, “The kids work really hard all year and our team wanted to come up with a way to congratulate them on their graduation and on the end of the school year.”  Hladik added, “This is a great way to kick off the summer and tell the kids what a great job they had done!”

Over 100 area residents came by to cool off for a few hours on a hot summer evening. The Councilmen told jokes to the children, and exchanged ideas with their local supporters. The parents were able to take part in the ice cream as well, as the Councilmen extended the offer to them in honor of their often unheralded dedication to their children’s education.

As parents of 8 children combined, Hladik and O’Hern know how much work goes into helping the kids with their education and homework during the school year.  O’Hern concluded, “It takes a lot of effort on the part of everyone within the family for a child to be successful, and Stan and I just wanted to congratulate our local families on a job well done!”
