West Essex High Literary Mag Wins Press Association Award

'The Roundtable' was led by editor Athena Marousis and assistant editors Jacqueline Gualtieri and Madison Mastroberte.

The West Essex High School student magazine has been awarded the Gold Medalist Certificate from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.

The 2012-13 edition of "The Roundtable," the West Essex High School literary magazine, was named a gold medalist in the press association's Medalist Critique Category, announced Anna Morse, supervisor of English, Reading and Libraries at the high school.

Last year's editor Athena Marousis, a junior from Fairfield, and assistant editors and seniors Jacqueline Gualtieri and Madison Mastroberte, both of Fairfield, said they received many submissions for the literary magazine last year because the West Essex English teachers inspire their students and really know how to help their students become better writers.

"I want to thank all of the English teachers for all of the hard work they do," Morse said.
