Jefferson School Donates Hundreds Of Toys This Past Holiday Season

'Once again I am so proud of the Jefferson School community for its great spirit of generosity.'

Jefferson Elementary School got into the holiday season this December and collected hundreds of toys for needy families. 

The students surpassed their expectations and collected about 400 toys that were donated to the St. Rocco's Family Shelter in Newark

“Once again I am so proud of the Jefferson School community for its great spirit of generosity,” said Jefferson School Principal Tim Ayers. “I'd like to thank [James Caldwell High School] Coach Ken Trimmer and everyone involved in this very worthy cause.”

Trimmer organized the toy drive to benefit children at the Newark charity. In addition to toys, Jefferson School families donated clothing and toiletries for the adults at the shelter.

St. Rocco's Family Shelter provides housing and shelter services to women and children. It is a short-stay shelter for the homeless and for welfare recipients.
