West Essex Art Assoc. Meeting Features N.J. Artist, Carmel Bongiovanni

The West Essex Art Association is pleased to announce our monthly meeting featuring a demonstration by NJ collage artist, Carmel Bongiovanni.  Carmel will demonstrate how she colors the papers she uses to make her distinctive collages.  With this technique one can achieve results which are not possible with any other medium.  During this session, there will be a hands-on opportunity for anyone interested in trying this technique. Join us on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 7:30-9:30PM at Crane's Mill Town Square, 459 Passaic Ave., West Caldwell, NJ in the Activity Room.

The meeting and demonstration is free and open to all artists and interested parties.  Coffee & Networking at 7:30 - Program at 8 pm sharp.  For further information, contact Constance Seugling at 973-239-5005.

Carmel Bongiovanni has exhibited her work in group and one-woman shows in the New Jersey area since 1981. Her work has been accepted in many juried shows and has received numerous awards.

Artist’s Statement
“Although I have utilized various print making techniques in my creations, I received the most satisfaction from creating collages with papers I color myself with a marbleizing technique.  This technique allows me to exploit accidents which fire the imagination. I then combine my personal experiences and formal knowledge of art to develop the project.”
