The History of Newark Jazz Talk

Caldwell Library is pleased to host author and
jazz authority Barbara J. Kukla for a talk on her new book America's Music: Jazz in Newark.  She will trace Newark's rich jazz history from
the 1920's on, highlighting musicians such as Sarah Vaughan, James Moody,
Woody Shaw and Wayne Shorter who made Newark a jazz epicenter through
the years.  Refreshments provided plus a book signing and
registration required.
