"Sustainable Jersey" by Gray Russell

Sustainable Jersey is a certification program for municipalities in New Jersey that want to go green, save money and take steps to sustain their quality of life over the long term. Launched in 2009, the program provides a menu of "action points" municipalities can do to become more sustainable and receive formal certification, from creating a "community carbon footprint," doing "energy audits" for municipal buildings, a community paper shredding day, to creating a raingarden. These are steps taken by the municipality in conjunction with residents.
