The following letter to the editor was written by Gene Dassing.

This letter is being written to endorse Marie Lanfrank for Caldwell-West Caldwell Board of Education.

It is imperative that Caldwell have representation on the Caldwell-West Caldwell School Board and Marie is the only candidate who lives in Caldwell and thus, will represent the Caldwell residents, keeping Caldwell’s needs in mind.

Additionally, Marie has proven she is problem solver and a true advocate for public education.  When the school board budget could not support many of the ‘extras’ for our school children, Marie researched and founded the Caldwell-West Caldwell Education Foundation.

Her many years as chairman of the Caldwell-West Caldwell Education Foundation saw tens of thousands of dollars raised and given to the school district for innovative teacher grants, technology initiatives and to enhance cultural and artistic programs.

Marie is also the Caldwell Council’s education liaison and as such, attends all Board of Education meetings and creates reports for the Mayor and Council.

Marie’s interests are simple: to create the best educational experience for all Caldwell-West Caldwell students, and she accomplishes this with energy, hard work, intelligence and humility.

I urge you to consider voting for Marie Lanfrank on Tuesday, Nov 5.

There are two seats on the board up for grabs this November. Board members Rosanne Hansen and John King will seek reelection, and will be challenged by Dan Cipoletti, Marie Lanfrank and Charles Alberta.

The five will be on the ballot on the Nov. 5 general election. Both seats carry three-year terms.
