The following letter to the editor was written by Chris Durkin, Essex County Clerk.

I am writing to endorse Dan Cipoletti for the Caldwell-West Caldwell Board of Education.

Dan has been a resident of our community for over 20 years. He is a trustee for the West Caldwell Public Library. Dan is a successful business person having developed and managed large projects in his 20-year career.

As a parent of children within our schools, I feel Dan will bring a well balanced approach to the Board.  Dan represents a "new voice" with a vision for the future. His platform is one I agree with.  It is based on sustainable goals which will lead our schools to be within the top 10 percent in the state of New Jersey.

Being involved in the services of our community myself, I understand what it takes to work with others to achieve our goals. Dan’s approach and interests are well rounded. He has children in our school system, is a home owner and has been involved with committees in our town. He will balance these attributes for the benefit of us all.

The five will be on the ballot on the Nov. 5 general election. Both seats carry three-year terms.
