I am an ambitious and involved parent that wants to be a part of the solution in providing a better educational experience for every child and family in the district.
I know that I cannot make changes on my own but I will work hard with the board to ensure decisions are thoroughly considered and provide a voice from a parent’s perspective on all issues.

What makes you qualified for the position?

I have been involved as a parent and volunteer at the school level for several years and will bring my dedication and enthusiasm to the board.

From my career, I have considerable experience working in team environments to deliver results as well as many skills that will be assets to the board.

What are the three biggest challenges facing the school district in your opinion?

The curriculum across the district will always be evolving and keeping up with the current requirements, technologies and needs of our students is a big challenge.

We should be providing the opportunity for students to learn at their own pace but constantly be challenged to exceed their potential.

Technology is a key factor in developing new programs and it is important to refresh outdated equipment and get current technologies into the hands of students every day.

While academics are a large focal point, we also need to ensure our school environment addresses social issues as well. The development of policies, procedures, and training across the district and staff will help to ensure consistent handling of situations and a safe, friendly and gratifying environment for our students to learn and grow.

What school-related issues would you focus on if you were elected?

Many of the district challenges and focal areas relate directly to the schools themselves. Addressing technology across all schools is a key component to improving our students’ daily educational experience.

The social aspect of the learning environment has to be addressed at the school level as well. I feel we can provide the students with better tools and support in handling the everyday issues that affect them both academically and socially.

What is the single-most important asset you can bring to the board if you were elected?

While I am realistic and understanding of the other factors involved, my enthusiasm and drive as a parent will always push me to fight for what is in the best interests of the children and families of our district.
