Week in Review: Food Donations Needed, Funds Sought for Downtown

Here's what you may have missed this week...

Caldwell Mayor Ann Dassing submitted a $2.3 million grant application to the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) last month. The grant, Dassing said, would be used to implement a streetscape initiative in the borough’s business district, from the  to Lane Avenue.

A 19-year-old North Caldwell man, who was apparently drunk and began an argument with a group of women in a parking lot across the street from the Verona Inn on Bloomfield Avenue, was issued a summons for public intoxication.

Caldwell's Department of Human Services is making a plea to the community to help stock the shelves at the The Caldwell Food Pantry. Plus, a local Girl Scout helps expand the pantry to serve another important member of the family—the family pet.

A display at the West Caldwell  uses boxes of Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Mountain Dew and other soda varieties to create the five Olympic rings and spell out “London.”
