Week in Review: Cars Burglarized at Pool, WCFD Turns 100, Police Buying Motorcycle

The  have no leads so far in their investigation of last week's multiple car burglaries at a town pool parking lot. Four women had their  between 1:45 and 3:15 p.m., according to police. The passenger car windows were broken in all cases in order to snatch the pocketbooks, each containing cash, credit cards and other valuables.

The Caldwell Police Department is adding a motorcycle to its fleet. The town should see a “huge” savings in fuel costs with a motorcycle on patrol, according to Chief James Bongiorno said. Bongiorno said patrol cars will also experience less wear and tear.

Caldwell Democratic council candidate Edward Durkin will have a running mate in November. Durkin said his new running mate, who he only revealed is a woman, will be announced later this month.

Caldwell got a little more beautiful this summer thanks to the work of one 16-year-old Eagle Scout candidate. Troop 6 member Colin Corliss spent the last several months clearing debris, conditioning the soil and landscaping an 800-square-foot area between the  and the for his Eagle Scout project.
