A couple of Caldwell businesses called it quits after the New Year. In the Smull Avenue storefront of Edlyn Sweets, a chalkboard formerly used to highlight specials now thanks loyal customers for their business. A "For Rent" sign also hangs in the window.

North Caldwell 'Landmark' Restored After Sandy

When Paul Stille read a plea in a local paper for someone to repair a windmill damaged by Superstorm Sandy, he knew he was the right man for the job. The cherished windmill has stood outside the Vandermolen’s North Caldwell home for more than 20 years and was nearly destroyed by the historic October storm.

Caldwell-West Caldwell Schools Reexamine Security Practices

Caldwell-West Caldwell Schools Superintendent James Heinegg said Monday the district is taking both short and long-term measures to improve security in the wake of a mass shooting at a Newtown, Conn. elementary school in December.

Tickets are now on sale for the second annual Caldwell-West Caldwell Education Foundation’s “Dancing With Our Community Stars,” which will take place on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m., atJames Caldwell High School's Center for Performing Arts in West Caldwell.
