Skaters Take to Ice at Grover Cleveland Park

Pond remains open until 8 p.m. tonight.

The Grover Cleveland Park's pond opened for skating Friday night and will remain available for skaters Sunday until 8 p.m.

There is no cost to use the ice, but skates are not available to rent. Hot chocolate is provided courtesy of the Grover Cleveland Park Conservancy.

Signs posted by the pond notify skaters of the ice conditions and whether it is safe to skate or not. Staff from the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs are present during these hours to monitor skaters. Ice skating is not allowed when staff is not present.
