POLL: What's Your Favorite Deli?

What's a great place to get sandwiches where you live?

Perhaps it's the fresh bread, savory meats and cheeses or homemade salads?

Maybe it's the personality of the folks behind the counter.

But everybody has a delicatessen that's special to them. I mean, it's New Jersey after all.

Maybe you like to get pastrami on rye, mozzarella and prosciutto, or fresh turkey on a roll.

But whatever you order, you keep going back there for a reason.

This week, share with us the name of your favorite deli. And, if you like, tell us why you like it in the comments section. We'll publish the results on Friday. And, in the meantime, bon appetit!

Love Nicco's but now that they took away the parking on both sides of Bloomfield Ave. it makes it so much harder to get to. And the traffic has never been worse than it is now and it it certainly no safer for pedestrians either. Anyway, I hope Nicco's can remain in business with very limited parking available..

Favorite is Nicco's by far. Love that he grows his own vegetables for the sandwiches. The long hot peppers are fantastic.

Not sure why the negative comments about Calandras? I have had lunch there several times and the food and service was good. Am I missing something?

Service is not good. I experienced my most recent example last week. On my day off from work, I went in & waited on the deli line for a long time...only to be ignored & bypassed. They immediately asked the police officer behind me for his order & told me they had to take care of him first. I waited a few more minutes &, even though there were several people working, none wanted to take my order. I had my 4 year old son with me who was becoming somewhat impatient because he was hungry, so we left, went home & had PB&J sandwiches. Last time, they didn't have some common ingredients that I wanted on my sandwich. Want to hear about the bakery area? I'll can keep going... Calandra's is over-priced and, other than the bread, low-quality!!!

Il Panino in Fairfield. The BEST sandwiches!

Totally agree! Same thing happend to me. The only thing I will go there for now is bread. The service in both the restaurant and deli is nothing like it was when it first opened.

You have to check out Cielo in fairfield. Even though they r known for their dinner. The lunch menu is awsome and inexpensive, boardwalk style cheese steak to die for
