Football Playoffs Begin, Sandy Relief Drive and More in the Week Ahead

A look at the week ahead and what stories Patch plans to cover.

Here are some of the stories we're working on and what's happening this week in the Caldwells. See you around!

—The Caldwell boys and girls soccer teams have second round state playoff games in the NJSIAA State Tournament Monday. The boys will play at Garfield at 4 p.m. and the girls play at Hackettstown at 2 p.m.

—The Caldwell-West Caldwell Board of Education will hold a regular meeting on Monday, Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m., at Harrison School.

—The North Caldwell Council will convene on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m. at Borough Hall.

—Caldwell College is holding a Sandy Relief Drive for “Comfort Kits” on Tuesday and Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. Details here.

—Century 21 Cedarcrest Realty in Caldwell is collecting donations of new toys for Toys for Tots.

—The Chic Charity Club Inc. will host the second annual Dress for Success Soiree at Runway, 3 Smull Ave., in Caldwell, on Friday, Nov. 16, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund.

—On Friday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m., the West Essex Knights (3) take on Lakeland (6) in North Caldwell in the Group 3 North 1 football state tournament.

—The Caldwell Chiefs will play Lincoln at home in the first round of the Group 2 North 2 football state tournament on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 1 p.m.

—The 38th Annual Caldwell College Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
