Life Source Church has found a new home in the Caldwells.

The church will mark its third anniversary and celebrate its new worship space at 31 Fairfield Ave., in West Caldwell, on Sunday, Sept. 16.

“This move to our new facility allows us continue our commitment to be a contemporary Christian church for western Essex County as our church is steadily growing,” said Lead Pastor Jonathan Papa.

Life Source Church opened on Sept. 13, 2009 at  in Caldwell, according to Papa.

When their lease was up at Washburn Place and the building was sold, the church moved its services temporarily to Caldwell College and began looking for a permanent home.

The church was in negotiations earlier this year to purchase the Knights of Columbus Hall on Personette Street in Caldwell—a move which was  who expressed concerns over lack of parking.

When the Presbyterian Church of West Caldwell was , a worship space opened up in the Caldwells.

"I got to know Jonathan Papa through the West Essex Ministerial Association and when I learned of the news of the trouble they were having with the Knights of Columbus building, I reached out to him about the possibility of using the West Caldwell space," said Rev. Rick Sommers, Senior Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell.

"Both our Session and the Council of Life Source met to discuss it, with the end result being we approved their request to make the West Caldwell Campus their church home," Sommers added. "We’re happy for them and hope it works out well!"

According to Papa, Life Source Church is part of the Assemblies of God; a fellowship of more than three million adherents in the United States, as well as 65 million worldwide.

“When our church opened three years ago, we were mainly a group of strangers,” Papa said, “but today we have developed such great friendships and we look forward to meeting many new friends in our West Caldwell location.”

He added, “As our church family grows we hope to be greater blessing to our local community.”

This Sunday’s Neighborhood Celebration begins with a worship gathering at 10:30 a.m. After the service, the celebration moves outside and includes free pizza and ice cream from  and . The celebration is open to all.

Three years ago, when searching for a new church home, I found Life Source Church and a new family of brothers and sisters in Christ. LSC has been a tremendous blessing in my life and the lives of so many others. Pastor Papa is an inspiring speaker who brings the Word to life. I am so grateful to God that when I prayed for direction in my life, He lead me to Life Source.

I grew up in a Christian home and spent every Sunday going to a large church. The older I became, the more lost I felt inside the walls of a church I'd been a part of for most of my young life. Then, in 2009, my family heard a radio commercial for this new church called Life Source Church. We decided to attend... And I am so very grateful that we did. Life Source is a family - there are no strangers, there are no outcasts. We are all accepted as we are and we support each other as each of us grow more and more in Christ. The love and warmth I've experienced at Life Source is unlike any other I'd known growing up a Christian. The people of Life Source are Christ's hands, feet, and heart.

My life was never perfect yet I have always known how blessed I have been. Throughout the different stages in my life I felt as though “something” was missing. My wife and I sat in a pew at another church for 5 yrs and while that church did amazing things we felt like we weren't fully engaged and realized we needed to strengthen our relationship with our maker. Lifesource Church was an answer to prayer. We instantly connected with Pastor Jonathan and his family and embraced their genuine love for God. Over the years we've grown as a church family but personally my wife and I have had our relationship with God grow even more. We are grateful for a church whose priority is following the heart of Jesus. I hope God continues to use LifeSource Church and it’s people to show the true meaning of his love and that perhaps as you read this you are encouraged to join us on this wonderful path Jesus has laid out for us! God bless! See you Sunday! : )
