Church Celebrates New Worship Space

Life Source Church has found a new home in the Caldwells. 

The church will mark its third anniversary and celebrate its new worship space at 31 Fairfield Ave., in West Caldwell, on Sunday, Sept. 16.

“This move to our new facility allows us continue our commitment to be a contemporary Christian church for western Essex County as our church is steadily growing,” said Lead Pastor Jonathan Papa.

Life Source Church opened on Sept. 13, 2009 at  in Caldwell, according to Papa.

When their lease was up at Washburn Place and the building was sold, the church moved its services temporarily to Caldwell College and began looking for a permanent home.

The church was in negotiations earlier this year to purchase the Knights of Columbus Hall on Personette Street in Caldwell—a move which was  who expressed concerns over lack of parking. 

When the Presbyterian Church of West Caldwell was , a worship space opened up in the Caldwells.

"I got to know Jonathan Papa through the West Essex Ministerial Association and when I learned of the news of the trouble they were having with the Knights of Columbus building, I reached out to him about the possibility of using the West Caldwell space," said Rev. Rick Sommers, Senior Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell.

"Both our Session and the Council of Life Source met to discuss it, with the end result being we approved their request to make the West Caldwell Campus their church home," Sommers added. "We’re happy for them and hope it works out well!"

According to Papa, Life Source Church is part of the Assemblies of God; a fellowship of more than three million adherents in the United States, as well as 65 million worldwide.

“When our church opened three years ago, we were mainly a group of strangers,” Papa said, “but today we have developed such great friendships and we look forward to meeting many new friends in our West Caldwell location.”

He added, “As our church family grows we hope to be greater blessing to our local community.”

This Sunday’s Neighborhood Celebration begins with a worship gathering at 10:30 a.m. After the service, the celebration moves outside and includes free pizza and ice cream from  and . The celebration is open to all.
