Caldwell Towns Light Trees This Weekend

A guide to this weekend's tree lighting traditions.

It's the first weekend in December, which means it's time to light the Christmas trees in the Caldwells. Here's a guide to this weekend's festivities in Caldwell, North Caldwell and West Caldwell.

Caldwell: Santa Claus will be escorted up Bloomfield Avenue by the Caldwell Fire Department to the Caldwell green (at Roseland Avenue) where he will lead caroling and the countdown to the tree lighting on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 5 p.m. Photo-ops with Santa, hot chocolate and cookies, and a holiday auction will follow inside the Caldwell Firehouse.

North Caldwell: The borough Christmas tree and menorah at town hall will be lit on Sunday, Dec. 2. Festivities will take place between 4:30 and 6 p.m. Santa will arrive on a North Caldwell firetruck. Unwrapped gifts for children pre-school to teens will be collected.
