Caldwell College to Hold Auditions for Children's Choir

Choir comprised of children, with unchanged voices, in grades 3 through 8.

Children ages 8 to 14 are invited to audition for the Caldwell College Music Department's Children's Choir. 

The open auditions will be held on Thursday Jan. 3, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., with a snow date of Jan. 10.

An audition fee of $15 per family will be charged. Participation in the choir is $175 for one semester or $250 for fall and spring semesters.  

Children will learn how to read and appreciate music using proper vocal technique and correct posture and breathing methods. The program follows the musical education approach of Kodaly and Orff Schulwerk.

“The children’s choir program provides a vehicle for developing a child’s creativity. It also supports the arts through education. The lives of the children and members of their family are enriched by this singing experience,” stated Dr. Nan Childress Orchard, chair of the Caldwell College Music Department, in a release.
