Caldwell-West Caldwell Educators Accepted into Arts Program at Princeton

Six district teachers and administrators have been accepted into the program.

A team of six Caldwell-West Caldwell teachers and administrators has been accepted into the Foundation for Educational Administration's Summer Institute - Educational Leaders as Scholars: Using Arts-Infused Instruction to Enhance the Common Core, which will be held on the campus of Princeton University, July 14-16, 2014.

The program will feature John Abodeely, Deputy Director of the President’s Commission on the Arts and Humanities, as keynote speaker, as well as presentations by Princeton University professors, Museum education directors, Arts educators, and others.  All expenses for the Institute are paid by Princeton University, Crayola, Inc., and other corporate sponsors.

The Caldwell-West Caldwell team includes Jefferson School kindergarten teacher Andrea Bardes, Jefferson School third grade teacher Kaitlin Jarvie, and art teacher Eve Purcell, as well as administrators Wilson School principal Scott Keena, Director of Instructional Services Scott Klepesch, and Superintendent Dr. James Heinegg.

Dr. Heinegg commented, “After waiting for several weeks to find if we were accepted into the program, we are very excited and grateful that we will be able to participate. This is an outstanding professional development program that will ultimately benefit the students of our district; and at no cost to the district, it is truly a worthwhile opportunity.”
