Press Release: New Jersey-Based Rainbow Academy™ Now Open in West Caldwell

Child Care Franchise Has Opened the Doors on its First Essex County Center – Which is Currently Enrolling Students Ages 6 Weeks to 10 Years; Plans Underway for Grand Opening Celebration on April 26

West Caldwell, NJ, April 18 – What began in 1997 as one Rainbow Academy child care center has grown into a franchise of sixteen locations all across New Jersey – the latest of which is located in Essex County’s West Caldwell.  Situated at 1104 Bloomfield Avenue, this newest Rainbow Academy is now open for business and enrolling students ages 6 weeks to 10 years. Rainbow Academy of West Caldwell is owned by a local pair of dedicated parents and finance professionals – Mike Drake and Suzanne Orsulak-Drake, and managed by Verona native and educational industry veteran – Gina Mariani-Chimento. On Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Rainbow Academy of West Caldwell will play host to a Grand Opening Celebration and the owners wish to invite families from Essex County to attend.

The Grand Opening Celebration will kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring the proud new owners and staff along with Mayor John Tempesta, Jr. and several West Caldwell council members. The family-friendly event will also include games and activities on the new playground, face painting and balloon animals from Polka Dot the Clown, a DJ spinning tunes, plenty of refreshments, and tours of the school to explain the programs that are available at the new school.

“In addition to programs for infants, toddlers, preschool and summer camp for children up to 10 years of age, our school offers an extended day Kindergarten, which includes before and after care, along with a full day educational program all in one package,” shares Mariani-Chimento. “It not only offers children an educational advantage going into elementary school but also helps to alleviate some of the stress that many busy working parents experience trying to balance their work and family life.”

The Drakes and Mariani-Chimento are proud to all share close ties to the West Caldwell community. Suzanne Orsulak-Drake grew up in nearby Cedar Grove, Mike Drake landed his first job out of college at a financial firm across the street from his new school, and Gina Mariani-Chimento grew up in nearby Verona and has a number of family members living in West Caldwell. Additionally, many of the Drakes’ friends and associates live and work in West Caldwell. The trio felt the Essex County community would prove an ideal fit for their school.

“West Caldwell is filled with young professional parents – just like Mike and me – who are looking for a provider they can trust to offer quality care and a solid educational base for their children,” explains Orsulak-Drake. “As working parents of a Rainbow Academy student, we are constantly amazed at the level of care and education our son receives. It’s what inspired us to open a Rainbow Academy of our own. We wanted to share the same experience that we have had with the families of the West Caldwell and Essex County community.”

In order to meet the highest standards of aesthetics, rooms of the new Rainbow Academy of West Caldwell showcase warm paint colors, wood-like flooring, tailored window treatments, and security that exceeds industry standards with silent alarms and biometric finger scanning system. Pre-K classrooms feature state-of-the-art interactive whiteboards, and all classrooms enjoy credentialed teachers, ParentView® Internet Monitoring, and Tadpoles parent e-communication tool .

“West Caldwell marks our 16th child care center,” says Guy Falzarano, Founder and President of Rainbow Academy. “With the upcoming opening of our Westfield location later this year, we will have one for every year that our company has been in business. Of course, with the recent launch of our franchise division – that number will be increasing rapidly over the coming years. We’ve been very careful with our growth and are excited about the possibilities that the future holds with our expansion beyond New Jersey into New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Our new franchisees are all aligned with the importance of living our core values and bringing our Circle of Care philosophy to life in their centers. We look for very special business owners to successfully operate a Rainbow Academy, and Suzanne and Mike Drake along with Gina Chimento are a wonderful addition to the family. It has been a pleasure to work with them to launch this center. I am confident that their school will be extremely well-received in Essex County and that the families who attend Rainbow Academy of West Caldwell will thrive.”

To schedule a tour and inquire about enrollment, interested parents are encouraged to e-mail Gina Mariani-Chimento at GChimento@RainbowAcademy.com, call 973-882-1111, or simply drop by the West Caldwell child care center.
