Visions For Vacancies: What Should Move to 371 Bloomfield Ave.?

What would you like to see move into the location? Let us know in the comment section!

It is time for another installment of The Caldwell Patch's Visions for Vacancies. This week, Patch asks: What should move to 371 Bloomfield Ave., the former surgical supply store?

All possibilities are on the table. We ask you to forget what zone it's in, ignore setback regulations, dump-lot coverage rules, and all the other zoning jargon that puts most people to sleep. If you had your way, what would you like to see there? What would be the best use for the community?

The space became vacant after Metropolitan Medical Surgical Supplies moved out. The one-story retail space is located in the heart of Caldwell's well-walked downtown business district.

The empty store is sandwiched between Guerrero Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and  Frank's Barbershop, with the Italian restaurant Casa Filippo above it.

The vacant store has both on-street parking and free municipal parking behind Super Foodtown across the street.

What would you like to see move into the location? What about a Caribbean restaurant or a small boutique? Let us know in the comment section below!
