Trinity Academy Announces New Pre-K Location

Parents of enrolled pre-k students were notified of the move at the end of March.

Trinity Academy will move its pre-k program from Roseland to their Caldwell campus, beginning September 2014.  The move will create a unified pre-k to grade 8 community while maintaining distinct study and play areas for the various ages, according to school officials.

“The decision to move was well thought out and planned by a team of experienced administrative leaders,” said Mary Cassels, Trinity Academy principal.  “We believe the pre-k belongs in the larger school environment where they have access to more resources and really feel a part of the Trinity family.”

Classes will be offered for children ages 3 to 4 years old.  In addition to the traditional pre-k curriculum that includes language arts, math, art and social development, the new Caldwell campus will provide the pre-k children special classes in music, physical education and technology.  A new outdoor playground area will be installed for use by the pre-k and kindergarten children, and full before-care and after-care will be provided. The new structure mimics many of the Catholic schools in the area that house pre-k through grade 8 on one campus.

“Preschool parents can expect the same nurturing, academically-challenging environment that had previously been offered in Roseland, with additional benefits at the Caldwell campus. We will be undergoing renovations this summer to make sure the preschool children have their own separate classroom area, and we are exploring ways that the older children can serve as mentors to the little ones, such as a book buddy program,” added Mrs. Cassels.

Parents of enrolled pre-k students were notified of the move at the end of March. Trinity is currently accepting applications for pre-k and kindergarten, as well as transfer applications for grade 1 – 8.
