Earlier this summer, Patch reported that the home furnishings and gift shop called Saplings was moving from downtown Caldwell to Montclair.
At the time, owner Cindy Blanco said: "Yes yes yes! I am moving to the fabulous Montclair!"
Well, now that move is complete and Saplings is open for business at 74 Church St., right next to
Saplings sells a wide range of furniture bedding, lighting, rugs, home accessories, and gifts. Blanco says Saplings has all anyone would need for that room they'd like to redo or start fresh with!
Montclair Patch recently did a short Q&A with Blanco to ask about life in Montclair.
Q) What do you like about your new location?
A) I am happy I am in a historic building and two other women-owned retailers are on either side of me!
Q) What makes your store unique?
A) The mix of merchandise is like no other home furnishings store around. It's all USA-made furniture. And old school customer service has always been what my shop is all about!
Q) What's your background?
A) My background is display and design for major and specialty retailers for 28 years.
Q) What do you think of the South Park Street redesign project that's nearly finished?
A) The South Park Street renovation is fantastic for the whole area! It looked so dated and tired. I hope they will fix the fountain area in front of my shop.
Q) Besides Saplings, what are some of your favorite stores and restaurants in Montclair?
A) My fave places are , , , and .
So check out Saplings and say hello to Blanco. Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, on the shop go here.
