The local bar and restaurant was also voted No. 1 in the Northeast by the website.

Oktoberfest is bringing good tidings and cheer to one local tavern this holiday season.

The Cloverleaf Tavern was voted third best craft beer bar in the nation and No. 1 bar in the Northeast in CraftBeer.com's Great American Beer Bars competition.

The website received more than 5,000 nominations from readers across the country, according to the website. The bars were then separated into five regions and narrowed down to the top 10 most nominated bars in each region.

More than 37,000 votes, which were taken during August, of which Cloverleaf Tavern received the third most. This was the second year of the website's Great American Beer competition.

The local bar and restaurant was beaten out in the national rankings by Mekong Restaurant, of Richmond, Va., and HopCat, of Grand Rapids, Mich., numbers one and two, respectively.

In the Northeast region, the Cloverleaf's No. 1 position was followed by ChurchKey, of Washington, D.C., and The Farmhouse Tap & Grill, of Burlington, Vt.
