"Johannes Vermeer: His Life and Art"

As part of the 5th Annual Read Across West Caldwell program series, the West Caldwell Public Library, 30 Clinton Road, will present a slide-lecture titled "Johannes Vermeer: His Life and Art" with art historian Janet Mandel on Tuesday, October 23 at 7:00 pm in the Community Room.

Learn about the famous Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer (1632-1675) who was renowned for painting cityscapes of Delft, domestic interiors and female figures quietly performing simple tasks. Some of his famous paintings were "The Lacemaker," "The Milk Maid" and "Girl with a Pearl Earring."
