Garden Club of Essex Fells 55th Annual Plant Sale

The Garden Club of Essex Fells will be holding their 55th Annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 12th, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.  The event is tented so it will be on rain or shine, and will be located next to the post office on Runnymede Rd. in Essex Fells.

One of the featured products will be pre-designed mixed container plants by Beds and Borders, a nationally recognized grower of specialty plants.  These collections are ready to plant, all one has to do is add water for a colorful arrangement to be enjoyed into the fall.   Exclusive to the Essex Fells area, these plants are not available locally. Beds and Borders also supply us with a unique selection of perennials, annuals, hanging baskets and succulents.  In addition, the plant sale will offer herbs and vegetables, and mixed container baskets from local New Jersey growers suitable for planting in our area.

According to Susanne Keane, President of the Garden Club of Essex Fells, “The Garden Club plant sale provides an excellent product and value to our guests, while helping us to raise funds to support our civic projects.  These projects include the civic beautification around Essex Fells.  Other projects include educational programs for the community and students of Essex Fells School, environmental conservation, the continued restoration of the Glen, garden therapy at a nearby nursing home, and maintaining the historic herb garden at Drumthwacket during the year. We appreciate and thank the community for their continued support of our many projects.”
