The Visceglia Gallery at Caldwell College and the Montclair Art Museum will co-host the Scholastic Art Awards.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is a 90-year-old national program that identifies and develops creative teenagers and offers scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors.
The Northern New Jersey Region Award Ceremony and Opening Reception will be held Thursday, Feb. 13, at 6 p.m. in the gallery on Caldwell College's campus.
Due to the growing number of high school student participants in the competition, the Montclair Art Museum, which has hosted the Scholastic Art Awards since 2009, will coordinate with the Caldwell College to display the work of these talented young artists.
The Montclair Art Museum continues to serve as the sole affiliate sponsor of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards in New Jersey. The competition at MAM focuses on visual art. Its area of service includes the counties of Bergen, Essex, Passaic, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren.
As the New Jersey affiliate of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, MAM partners with the Alliance of Young Artists and Writers to identify and recognize teenagers with exceptional artistic talent and offers opportunities to gain national recognition and scholarships for their work.
