Vero Amici Donates $22K to Local Organizations
Service club comprised of 34 West Essex men.
Vero Amici for Charity has distributed $22,000 to local organizations for 2012, President Joseph Garamella announced recently.
The following groups were presented with checks from the service club comprised of 34 volunteers from throughout West Essex:
Local Assistance Board—$5,000

Essex County Mental Health Association—$5,000
The Bridge—$2,500

St Rocco’s—$2,000
Col. John McHugh Homerun Derby—$1,000 (Benefits the West Caldwell-Caldwell Recreation Special Needs Program)
Home Runs for Charity—$1,500 (Benefits the West Caldwell-Caldwell Recreation Special Needs Program)
West Caldwell/Montclair Police Hurricane Sandy Relief Drive—$500 in cleaning supplies
Private Donations to families in need—$4,000
Vero Amici, which translates to "True Friends," was founded in December 2005. To date the local men have raised $275,000, 100% of which has been given back to the community.
The group's mission is to raise money through charitable contributions that will be dedicated to children, handicap citizens, senior citizens, and underprivileged youths who need medical or financial assistance.
