'Go Orange' for Caldwell Teen Diagnosed With Cancer

Community rallies in support of 17-year-old Steve Brown who is undergoing treatment for leukemia.

A local hair salon is helping raise awareness and support for a recent James Caldwell High School graduate who was diagnosed with cancer.

David Chad Beauty Parlor, 398 Bloomfield Ave., in Caldwell, is selling orange hair extensions through the end of the week for $5. All proceeds will go to 17-year-old Steve Brown and his family.

Brown was diagnosed with a life-threatening form of Leukemia after suddenly feeling ill.

The community has rallied around the young man, who was set to play football for Lehigh University in the fall.

Earlier this month, The Progress reported, hundreds of friends and supporters gathered on Bonnel Field at the West Caldwell high school to form the word "family."
