West Essex Hires New Business Administrator

Pam Hinman, the Wharton Schools Business Administrator, will become the new West Essex Regional Schools Business Administrator on September 3.
Hinman’s appointment was approved by the West Essex Regional Board of Education at its July 15 meeting. Hinman met with several West Essex administrators, staff and board members before she was recommended to the full board for approval.
Hinman replaces Mike Falkowski, who left West Essex July 1, for a business administrator position in Ridgewood, a larger school district in Bergen County. Marlene Wendolowski is serving as interim administrator until Hinman can take over.
In an interview, Hinman said she is very excited to start her new job at West Essex. “I hope to bring my experience and background to West Essex and prove to be a strong asset to the District as a whole,” she said, adding “I love my job, I love what I do.”
The new administrator said she is also looking forward to working with West Essex Superintendent of Schools Barbara Longo. “Mrs. Longo is a very strong and knowledgeable superintendent who is very involved in all aspects of the central office.”
Hinman has served as the business administrator in Wharton, an elementary school district of 800 students for three years and nine months. Prior to that, she worked as the assistant business administrator in Roxbury, a K-12 district, for three years and three months. She has also worked as a school district accountant and an auditor and a comptroller for an ambulance company.
Hinman, a resident of Andover, has a master’s degree in accounting from Seton Hall University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Texas.
