West Essex High School Students Enjoy Spirit Week

West Essex High School celebrated Spirit Week Oct. 7-11 with special dress-up days, homecoming activities, the annual senior pancake breakfast and pep rally.

Students were asked to dress up in their class colors with special T-shirts and then other attire. Many students wore colorful accessories including wigs, earrings, facepaint, tutus and even Halloween costumes to show their spirit. Seniors enjoyed pancakes and spent time together as a class at the senior breakfast Friday. The day ended with the pep rally featuring a tug-of-war, a dance-off, and relay race along with performances by the West Essex High School Cheerleaders and Dance Team. The rally added with the announcement of the Homecoming Court and the king and queen: seniors Joseph Scaglia of Fairfield and Denise Barretti of Essex Fells. (The seniors won the pep rally, of course!)
