West Essex Students Without Electricity Studied in Libraries After-School

West Essex Regional Schools opened its libraries after-school.

With the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, West Essex Regional Schools opened its libraries after-school so students can do their homework with lights and heat.

Some students also lost internet service and were able to work on computers in the libraries. On Nov. 6, 24 students worked in the middle school library and 30 came to the high school library.

"If I could not come to the library after-school, I would not have been able to get my homework done," said Zach Ford, an eighth grader from Essex Fells as he worked on his algebra.
