More than 50 West Essex High School and Middle School students auditioned for the West Essex Masquers Spring Musical "Sweeney Todd," earlier this month. Students performed monologues and songs and learned dance routines.

After three days of auditions, many students were called back to perform solos before a panel of judges.

Rehearsals began Jan. 14 and the students are preparing for performances March 21-23 in the West Essex High School Auditorium.
