West Essex Seventh Graders Create Movement and Rhythmic Routines With Boomwhackers

West Essex Middle School seventh grade students in Ms. Donna Mateyka's Music 7 Exploratory classes created routines using Boomwhackers, musical instruments with different pitches. The students were divided into groups and then allowed to use different color Boomwhackers which feature different sounds. The students used several class periods to create a program combining music and movement. The groups then performed their final routines for Ms. Mateyka and the rest of the class.
