West Essex Students Walk to Raise Money for Hurricane Victims

West Essex Middle School students participate in walk-a-thon.

The West Essex Middle School raised $1,878 at its walkathon Tuesday, which is being donated to hurricane victims through the Red Cross.

Students walked during physical education classes to raise month for the charity.

The Middle School Builder's Club is also collecting non-perishable food for Moonachie residents. In addition, the middle school will be collecting classroom supplies for the Moonachie Elementay School. Teachers can also pay $5 on certain Fridays to wear denim to benefit the victims of Sandy.
