West Essex Middle School Names January Students of the Month

West Essex Middle School Principal David Montgomery and West Essex Middle School Assistant Principal Lisa Tamburri have announced the four Students of the Month for January, 2013.

 

The 7th Grade Students of the Month are:

Zach Zerance

Zach conveys his positive attitude in everything he does. "Yeah, I can do that - no problem," is a common response from him. Zach is a talented writer, amazing student, natural leader and a terrific kid! Zach, a resident of Roseland, enjoys playing baseball. 

 

 

                     Evin Lathrop

Evin's work is always excellent, exact and extrordinary. Evin never holds anything back and always puts 100 percent effort into everything she does. Evin, a resident of Essex Fells, enjoys planing soccer and lacrosse.

 

 

The 8th Grade Students of the Month are:

 

Anthony Agrifolio

Anthony is a dedicated and thoughtful student. He is always willing to work with any student in class and is eager to always put his best foot forward. Anthony, a resident of Fairfield, is a member of the West Essex Middle School Art Club.

 

Grace George

Grace is motivated, intelligent, hard-working, cooperative, friendly, helpful and fun. She is a team player. Grace, a resident of Essex Fells, plays soccer and lacrosse.

 

 

Every month, West Essex Middle School will select four students to be recognized and honored as the Students of the Month. Two students from each grade will be selected and the selection for each month will come from one academic team at each grade level. Cross-teamed students will not be neglected and will also be included in the selection process. 

 

To be selected as a Student of the Month, the middle school staff has decided to base candidates and selections on a review of the “whole” student not just the student with the best grades. Character traits such as honesty, perseverance, responsibility, integrity and leadership as well as a student’s academic qualities will be included in selecting students to be honored.

 

Honored students will have their pictures displayed in the middle school display case outside of the main office and on the middle school website. Honorees are also recognized during the morning announcements and receive a certificate recognizing their accomplishment, a “Student of the Month” locker magnet and a $5.00 Student Store Gift Card.
