Five West Essex High School seniors are honored, photos displayed in West Caldwell store.

Five West Essex High School seniors have been selected as Stars. They are: Herminio "Jet" Navia, Rebecca Cestari, Paul Haramis, Sara Jo Notte and John Lisella. Herminio of Roseland was recognized for academics after having a 4.92 GPA last year.

Rebecca of Essex Fells was recognized for the arts since she coordinates the school literary magazine and has performed in choir, dance and theatrical productions. Paul of Roseland was recognized for athletics for being quarterback for the West Essex State Championship Football Team. Sara Jo of Fairfield was honored for leadership for serving as president of the National Honor Society and French Club and captain of the swim team. John of Fairfield was recognized for service to the community after volunteering to help victims of the flood.

"We feel honored," said winner Sara Jo Notte. "A lot of people in our school do a lot of great things and to be recognized among them is a nice recognition, especially in our senior year. "The students were selected by high school staff and were photographed by ShopRite this week.
