The West Caldwell Public Library and West Caldwell Gazebo Concert Committee present a condensed version of "The Winter's Tale," a romantic comedy by William Shakespeare on Thursday, August 9 at 7:30 pm in the Crane Park Gazebo.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's Next Stage Ensemble will present this classic story of love, betrayal and reconciliation. The story focuses on the insane jealousy of the King of Sicilia (Leontes) who unjustly suspects his pregnant Queen (Hermione) of infidelity with his best friend (Polixenes), the King of Bohemia. How this love triangle is resolved is full of comical hijinks and miracles.

Food will be provided by Russillo's Restaurant & Pizza and will be served at 6:30 pm.

This performance is generously funded by the Robert Hilton Memorial Fund.

More About Crane Park

Crane Park

Crane Park

30 Clinton Rd, West Caldwell, NJ

Crane Park is located next to the West Caldwell Civic Center. It features the well-known Gazebo, picnic tables, benches and lamp posts for an evening stroll.

There is a memorial tablet, surrounded by flags and flowers, that was dedicated "in honor of the citizens of West Caldwell who served their country in the Armed Forces of the United States." Memorial gardens surround the area of the tablet. A brick pathway leads from the memorial stone up to the Gazebo.

The Gazebo in Crane Park was built and funded by individuals, fund-raising projects, corporate and service club donations and grants. The Gazebo is a cultural focal point for town events. The annual Holiday Tree Lighting is held there as well as a summer concert series.
