On March 8, 2012 the Kiwanis
Club of the Caldwells, New Jersey will host a talk entitled: “How to Keep a Backache from Ruining Your
Golf Game”. The talk will be given
by Dr. Joseph J. Murphy, Past President of the New Jersey Chiropractic Board of
Examiners.
Dr. Murphy will be discussing
topics such as: How to prevent injury by
stretching; the physiological response to the swing; how keeping healthy
reduces your back pain response, how to “sit for a good back”; Proper seating
postures and surfaces for pain-free sitting; what is the proper sleeping
position for less morning stiffness; what are the best mattresses to buy; what
exercises can I do to help my back; what exercises hurt my back?”
The talk will be presented at
the end of the general business meeting and lunch hosted by Kiwanis for its’
members at theCloverleaf Tavern.
A back pain
prevention expert, Dr. Murphy is currently celebrating his 27th year of private
practice in Chatham. Dr. Murphy received
his bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Rider College and his
Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Palmer College. He’s completed graduate work in spinal
biomechanics at both the University of Georgia and the University of
Bridgeport. A noted author and lecturer
on many health related subjects, he was featured as a guest on “Healthwatch”
WMTR AM’s weekly health radio program hosted by Jesse Freese. He is also the
editor-in chief of the Jersey Journal.

More About Cloverleaf Tavern
Cloverleaf was founded in 1933 by the current owner's grandfather. This tavern has a history as rich as its menu. Known for its beer selection, burgers and American cuisine, the walls are decorated with photos of the founding era. There is seating for over 200 guests.
