The Caldwell Merchant Association is hosting a Classic Car Cruise Night on the four Tuesdays in September. Businesses will offer special promotions and stay open for shoppers and diners to spend the evening on the Avenue.

While I appreciate classic cars, I see this event causing accidents. Commuters who happen to be driving along on Bloomfield Ave. in heart of rush-hour will slow down to admire these wonderful classic gems and someone is likely to be in a fender-bender. Additionally, it causes a slow-down in the traffic flow and people are trying to get home. Perhaps it would be best to move it off the main drag.
