Sen. Richard Codey's challenger in the 27th District will be a Morris County Tea Party candidate, according to Tuesday's unofficial primary election results. Voters selected William Eames of Whippany, co-founder of the Morris Patriots, over Essex Fells Councilman William Sullivan, according to election results. For Assembly, Democratic Assemblymen JohnMcKeon and Assemblywoman Mia Jasey fended off a primary challenger. Voters in Caldwell supported Democratic Primary candidates over Republican candidates by more than 50 votes in Tuesday's primary, according to unofficial results. With all seven districts reporting Wednesday morning, Caldwell Democratic challengers Frank Rodgers and John Kelley finished with 176 and 174 votes respectively in the Democratic Primary. In the Nov. 8 election, they will challenge incumbent candidates Joseph Norton and Douglas Piazza, who received 147 and 151 votes respectively in the Republican Primary. Kelley, of Hillside Avenue, is a 12-year resident of Caldwell with his wife, Susan. They have two children; Johnny attends George Washington University and Meredith attends Mount St. Dominic Academy. His family attends St. Aloysius Church where he sings in the choir. The running mates seek re-election for two three-year seats on the council in the November General Election. Joseph Norton, of Arlington Avenue, is seeking a second term.
