It seems that West Essex Middle School students really know their history.
Four students have qualified for the National History Bee Regional Finals April 18 in Yonkers, New York. The four finalists are: Louis Galarowitz, an eighth grader from North Caldwell who was also a finalist last year, Thomas Moro, an eighth grader from Roseland, Richard "Liam" Marsh, an eighth grader from Essex Fells and Eamon Morrissey, a seven grader from Essex Fells.
"The Regional Finals are a fun and exciting event where top students in the region play head-to-head on a Jeopardy-style buzzer system to answer questions about history," said West Essex Middle School Social Studies Teacher Patricia McCarthy. "Friends and family are encouraged to share in this special event."
The highest qualifying winners will go to the finals in Atlanta, Georgia later in the Spring.
Last year, West Essex eighth grader Jason Morganti of Fairfield made it to the quarter finals of the National History Bee in Washington D.C.
