Left to right, Gabe Angeles and Allison Hale, both juniors from Roseland, Emma Olsson, a junior from Fairfield, Christa Luzzi, a senior from Fairfield, and Brittany Blue, a senior from North Caldwell, show their snowflakes.

West Essex High School art students created handmade snowflakes for the students of Sandy Hook.

Sandy Hook School teachers in Newtown, Conn. want to brighten the spirits of students at their new school building with snowflakes created by supporters from across the country.

The Connecticut Parent-Teacher Association encouraged people to make and send homemade snowflakes to their office in Hamden, Conn. No two snowflakes are alike!

The students were in art classes taught by Amanda Procaccino, Eileen Dormer and John Atura.
