New Look for West Caldwell Website
Township unveils new and improved www.westcaldwell.com this week.
West Caldwell's website has a whole new look as of Wednesday morning.
The improvements to www.westcaldwell.com were announced at Tuesday's township council meeting by Councilman Stephen Wolsky, Chair of the Community Planning, Development and Technology Committee.
Visitors will find not only a more attractive site, but one that is easier to navigate. New sections include a newsletter signup and FAQs. There is now also a mobile version so residents can access the site on their smart phones.
Wolsky said Tuesday that once the site is up township employees can begin updating the information, something they will now be able to do more easily and frequently.
Down the road, Wolsky said, residents may see the ability to apply for building permits, dog licenses and other needs through the site.
The township paid Qscend Technologies Inc. of Waterbury, Conn. approximately $10,000 for the redesign, according to Wolsky. The price tag includes maintenance through 2012.
West Caldwell's website had not been redesigned since it was launched, said Township Administrator Jock Watkins.
